I've redrawn this piece six times and it's still not right
Why this happens
Restarting feels productive because it's action. But if the core problem โ composition, proportion, concept โ isn't identified before the restart, the new version inherits the same problem. The seventh attempt looks like the first.
FIX IT NOW
- Stop redrawing. Open the version you hate least
- Flip it: Actions โ Canvas โ Flip Canvas Horizontally. Fresh perspective, same drawing
- Write down the one specific thing that's wrong. Not "everything" โ one thing. "The face is too small relative to the body." That specific
- Fix only that one thing on the current version
The restart feels like a fresh start. Fixing the specific problem feels harder โ but it's the only thing that actually moves forward.
