I'm scared to post my art. What if people think it's bad?
Why this happens
You're imagining an audience that is paying close attention and waiting to judge. The real audience is scrolling at speed and registers most posts for under a second. The fear is disproportionate to the actual risk.
FIX — the anonymous account method
- Create a second Instagram account with no connection to your name or main account. Don't tell anyone about it
- Post everything there for 30 days. No stakes because no one who knows you is watching
- After 30 days you'll have a realistic picture of what posting actually feels like versus what you imagined it would feel like
IF YOU ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUNT AND CAN'T POST TO IT
Post to Stories first — disappears in 24 hours, lower stakes than a permanent post.
Or Close Friends only: Settings → Close Friends → add one trusted person. Post there first.
