I kept adding detail and now it's a mess — I've killed it

FIX IT NOW

1. First: go to the Gallery, swipe left on the piece → Duplicate. You now have a backup copy. Do this before touching anything
2. On the original: hide layers one by one by tapping the checkmark on each. Keep hiding until the piece looks good again. When it does — you've found the layer or layers that broke it
3. Delete the problem layer, or reduce its opacity to 20–30% rather than deleting — sometimes a detail layer at low opacity is exactly right
4. If you've been working mostly on one flat layer with no separation: Adjustments → Hue/Saturation/Brightness → reduce Saturation by 15–20, increase Brightness slightly. Then Adjustments → Gaussian Blur at 1–2px. This won't make it painterly — but it softens the harshest edges enough to assess what's worth keeping versus what needs to go
