All cards โ†’ ๐Ÿง  Mindset

I never finish anything โ€” I always abandon drawings halfway through

Why this happens

The middle of a drawing is genuinely the hardest part. The excitement of starting is gone, the satisfaction of finishing isn't there yet, and every problem in the piece is fully visible. This is where almost everyone wants to quit. It's not a personal failing โ€” it's just where drawings live for most of their life.

WHAT HELPS

  1. Set a timer for 45 minutes when you start. When it goes off โ€” save what you have, close Procreate, walk away. Call it done for today
  2. Not because the piece is finished. Because finishing is a separate muscle from drawing, and it only develops through repetition. Ugly, incomplete-feeling saves still count. They add up

FOR PIECES YOU'VE ALREADY ABANDONED

Open the most recent one. Give it 20 minutes โ€” not to make it good, just to get it somewhere you can save it and move on. Closure on an old piece makes starting a new one easier.
